ICS100: Crisis Management: Where to Turn When Things Go Wrong, an Introduction to Incident Command System

Description: This presentation is designed to give an introduction to the principles, common terminology and position-specific responsibilities when responding to an event using the Incident Command System (ICS). The presentation specifically discusses major ICS functions and associated responsibilities, ICS organizational units, span of control, major incident facilities and the function of each, what an Incident Action Plan is and how it is used, and the common responsibilities associated with incident assignments. This presentation applies the principles and philosophies of ICS to the corporate and business environment, as part of establishing a comprehensive and functional organizational wide incident management plan.

Audience: This presentation is intended for internal and external audit professionals, General Counsels, Chief Security Officers, Controllers and their management, InfoSec professionals, continuity planners, first responders, operations managers, Human Resource professionals, third-party service providers, emergency management personnel, personnel newly assigned to a disaster recovery role or those employed in a technical role who need to have a better understanding of the breadth of continuity planning, and anyone interested in obtaining a better understanding of the requirements necessary for identifying, developing and maintaining a viable and successful enterprise-wide Incident Command System (ICS), as part of a greater business continuity plan.
