TEAM100: Building High Performance Teams

Description: This practical course focuses on the essential elements, stages, types, paradigms, and characteristics for building effective teams.  This action learning approach to team development begins with the basic ingredients of group dynamics and builds into learning exercises of team problem solving and decision making.  Particular emphasis is on consensus seeking principles and practice sessions.

Audience: Work Teams, Cells, Cross Functional Teams, Task Force Committees, Managers responsible for Team Building.

Prerequisites: None.

Objectives: After completing this seminar, team members will be able to: 

  • Apply group problem solving behaviors and know how to seek consensus in teams.
  • Communicate interpersonally and reach group decisions using facilitation techniques.
  • Follow several team building stages and problem solving steps.
  • Recognize appropriate group dynamic behaviors to enhance meetings and outcomes.
  • Practice team leadership roles and identify team leader interventions.
